Fundraising charity Stream for CLDF March 31st
This Friday, the 31st of March, I’ll be running a charity stream on my Twitch channel starting at 4am EST/9am GMT,to raise money for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF). This charity is particularly close to our Hearts.
My son Daniel who is now 12, was diagnosed with a rare Liver condition known as Biliary Artresia when he was only a few weeks old, at the age of 8 Weeks he had a life saving operation known as a Kasia procedure, this is to prevent the need for a liver transplant in the short term, for most kids they will eventually need a liver transplant at some point in the future.
The Children’s Liver Disease Foundation is an organization that supports young people with liver disease, along with their families, by providing information, emotional support, and financial aid. The foundation works tirelessly to fund research to improve the lives of children with liver disease and to raise awareness about this often-overlooked illness. The CLDF also provides valuable resources to medical professionals to ensure that children with liver disease receive the best possible care.
The CLDF, like many other charities, were hit hard during the pandemic. As a smaller charity compared to most, they heavily rely on public funds to continue their vital work supporting children with liver disease and their families. Unfortunately, the pandemic meant that the CLDF had to make difficult decisions, including letting staff members go at the height of the pandemic. However, with the support of the public and events like the upcoming charity stream, we can all help the CLDF continue to provide crucial support to those who need it most.
The CLDF Big Yellow Friday is an annual fundraising event held by the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation to raise awareness and funds for their important work. The event usually takes place in March, and supporters are encouraged to wear something yellow, the color of the foundation, to show their support for children with liver disease. Individuals, schools, and businesses can participate in a variety of activities, from bake sales and sponsored walks to quizzes and raffles, all with the aim of raising money for the CLDF. The funds raised during the Big Yellow Friday go towards providing crucial support for young people with liver disease and their families, including funding research, providing information and emotional support, and advocating for the best possible care.
